In a magical kingdom fathoms below, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice. Adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production, this show features the hit songs “Part of Your World,” “She’s in Love,” and the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea.” Learn to sing, dance and act as you discover the magic of musical theater. This summer, the City of Redwood City is offering a two week
program dedicated to developing young people’s skills in performance. The program focuses on the 3 C’s of performing: building confidence, creativity and creating community. In the two week program, students will participate in workshops in Movement, Theater Games, Speech, Singing, Dancing, Makeup, and Stagecraft. The program will culminate in a fully staged production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Materials fee includes a makeup kit, show c.d. and student libretto/vocal book. Students will need to bring a bag lunch. Lab Fee: $30 payable to the instructor on the 1st day.
