Visual Arts Camp
with Dr. Peter Koehler, artist, Ph.D. in Mathematics, researched and taught at
Stanford University. He currently teaches at the Nueva School.
This is for creative kids who love the Arts, love to paint and want to learn new
imaginative ways to express themselves. We’ll use lots of vibrant paint to create our
own interpretation of Monet’s Garden , Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Nature’s Coral
Reefs. There will be a large variety of other art materials too : Enjoy pottery clay,
selection of wooden pieces to make 3-D sculptures, a variety of colorful paper for
collages, and we apply oil pastels in new ways to make designs and scenes of your
own imagination . Maybe you are inspired by animals, flowers, by stars and planets,
or the Northern Lights. Students should bring a peanut-free snack each day and a
smock or apron to cover clothes. Lab fee of $30 payable to instructor at 1st class.
