Ready for Kindergarten?

Local information--

Redwood City Community Resources to Help Prepare Your Child for Kindergarten (or Spanish: Recursos comunitarios de Redwood City para ayudar a preparar a su nino para el kindergarten)

Whether or not your child has attended an early education or school readiness program, other activities can provide good learning and socialization opportunities. Find many classes and camps for preschool-age children here. Library storytimes and other activities are available too! Sign up your child for a library card--and for kindergarten, of course!

Parent guides about getting ready for kindergarten were created by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation in conjunction with other partners. The guides are distributed through schools, preschool and child care programs and the Foundation.

Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment

Children must be 5 years old by September 1 to enroll in kindergarten. Children who turn 5 between September 2 and December 2 can enroll in Transitional Kindergarten.
