Target Family Days, generously sponsored by Target Stores, will attract kids and adults of all ages one Sunday per month, from 11am until 3pm. Three cultural themes including East Indian-Bollywood, Hawaiian and Latin will round out each enriching event with music, children’s performers, hands-on activities for kids and more.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona begins with Valentine and Proteus travelling from Verona to Milan, Valentine heading for Milan to serve in the Duke of Milan's court. Proteus joins his friend with his servant Launce, but would rather be with Julia, the women he loves and whom secretly loves him as well. Proteus is heading for the court because his father has decided it is time for his son to make a living. In Milan, Valentine falls in love with Silvia, the Duke of Milan's daughter but unfortunately for the two lovers, Silvia is to marry wealthy courtier Thurio instead. Valentine and Silvia therefore prepare to elope but Valentine reveals his plans to Proteus who is also in love with Silvia and who decides to tell the Duke of the elopement plan to have Silvia all to himself. Valentine suspects his friend loves Silvia, but Proteus denies this, hiding his true feelings but questioning the morality of loving

Enjoy Downtown Redwood City on Courthouse Square by bringing the family out to a FREE movie!  The Summer experience continues with a showing of 13 movies on Thursday evenings starting at sundown (approximately 8:45pm).  Come early for the best seats (a limited number of chairs and tables are available). 

Bring your blankets, pick up take-out food from the nearby wonderful restaurants and experience the outdoor "theater" with our 25 foot inflatable screen.

Salsa Tasting Contest: Call for Entries!

A $500 Cash Prize for the Best Salsa! There will be loads of great prizes in additional categories! There's even an award for Best Decorated Booth. It so hot, it's cool!

Teams can enter the salsa challenge as individuals, or businesses.
Salsa will be judged by a qualified panel of judges in the following categories Hot, Mild, and Fruit.

The festival goers will be able to purchase a tasting kit in order to cast their vote for the “people's choice award.”. A qualified panel of judges will judge entries equally based on the following criteria: aroma, consistency, color, appropriate heat level, taste and after-taste. This panel will also judge each team booth for Best Decorated.

Fees are $75.00 for restaurants and $50.00 for individual teams.
Space is limited, first come, first serve.

AARP Driver’s Safety Program
Saturdays, July 11th & July 16th
• 9am-1pm

Take this 8 hour refresher course especially designed for driver’s 50 and up.  In some cases, you may be able to receive a discount from your auto insurance for taking this course!  Cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.  Must sign up in advance by calling (650) 780-7270.  Max enrollment of 30 students, so sign up soon!

Advance Health Care Directive Clinic

The purpose of the health care directive is to put in writing what your wishes are regarding life sustaining medical treatment in the event that you become incapacitated and cannot tell the doctor what kind of treatment you want.  Come to the Veteran’s Memorial Senior Center for a FREE Advance Health Care Directive Clinic. Volunteer lawyers and law students from the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County will provide and assist you in completing the forms. Call for an appointment today! (650) 780-7274.

Patriotic Concert by West Bay Community Band

The Veterans Memorial Senior Center is proud to welcome back the West Bay Community Band!  This very special patriotic concert will feature an array of songs honoring our country, along with popular hits from WWII era!  There will be something for everyone at this performance!  To receive a discounted cost of $10, please call (650) 780-7274.  Tickets purchased at the door will cost $15.  Proceeds from this concert will be split to benefit the West Bay Community Band and the Veterans Memorial Senior Center.  Join us from 6:30PM-7:30PM for a pre-concert cocktail hour.  Concert begins at 7:30PM and will end at approx. 9pm..
