  Zoppe Italian Family Circus

An Italian Family Circus
Friday- Sunday
October 14-23, 2011
Matinee & Evening Showtimes

Circus Tent: 1044 Middlefield Rd. Downtown Redwood City
The Circus is coming to town! Redwood City is proud to welcome, Zoppé, An Italian Family Circus from October 14th through October 23rd for spectacular two-hour performances that will enthrall the entire family! The Circus tent will be set up next to the Downtown Library at 1044 Middlefield Road in Redwood City and will host matinee and evening performances.

The Zoppé Family Circus welcomes guests into the intimate 500 seat tent for a one-ring circus that honors the best history of the Old-World Italian tradition. Starring Nino the clown, the circus is propelled by a central story (as opposed to individual acts) that feature acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine capers, clowning and plenty of audience participation. Giovanni Zoppé, the sixth-generation circus performer who plays Nino, says the show aims higher than what passes for circuses these days. "We try to touch every emotion during the show," he says. "They'll laugh, they'll cry, and they'll feel for the characters. It's more of an event than a show."

Courthouse Square (map)
The second annual Peninsula Oktoberfest is taking place on Saturday, October 15, 2011!

A one-day community event of beer, food and music! You are invited to join beer lovers from around the SF Bay Area. Centrally located in City of Redwood City, and adjacent to public transportation, Courthouse Square is easily accessible to everyone from San Francisco, San Jose, the East Bay area and everywhere in between.
Peninsula Oktoberfest is a community event hosted by Bullfrog Media. They have chosen to donate a portion of the proceeds from this event to a local charitable organization.

The Redwood City Education Foundation (RCEF) is an all volunteer, community-based foundation. They are the only organization raising funds district-wide to support education programs for the students in the Redwood City School District. They work closely with the district to ensure that the programs they support meet the needs of the children and will better prepare them for high school, college, the work force and life. The RCEF is a 501(c) nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 94-2903141).

A Moose inside the Fox? Believe it or not, it's true!

If You Give A Moose A Muffin theater performance based on a book by Laura Numeroff
Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 1pm
Fox Theatre,
2215 Broadway Street Redwood City, CA 94063
Join the Fox family for a fascinating, live theatre performance based on the book by Laura Numeroff, If You Give a Moose a Muffin! If a big, hungry moose comes to visit, you might give him a muffin to make him feel at home. If you give him a muffin, he'll want some jam to go with it. When he's eaten all your muffins, he'll want to go to the store to get some more muffin mix. Has this ever happened at your house? In this hilarious sequel to The Magik Theatre's 2009 runaway hit If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, the young host is again run ragged by a surprise guest. Last year, the boy was visited by a tiny, fast-moving mouse. This year, his guest is bigger and his head is adorned by a gigantic set of antlers. Join us as we see what kind of havoc a moose can make when you invite him into your home and offer him something just as sweet as - but perhaps just a little larger than - a cookie.
