Spring Classes Great for Homeschoolers

Below are classes that take place during the regularly scheduled school day that Homeschoolers could attend!

homeschoolWe are in the process of developing more programs for Homeschoolers. We are also providing a few classes that happen earlier in the day, exclusively for homeschooled children. Look for the new Homeschool icon next to classes in our printed recreation guide that take place during the regular school day.

horsemanship
Introduction to English Horseback Riding
Age 6+
1:30-2:30pm

For the beginner rider, you will learn safety, horse handling and care through grooming and experience on the ground and on the horse, throughout the course at our professional riding facility. Our knowledgeable instructors will teach you to mount, dismount correctly, to riding in our covered arena under our watchful eye. Due to the physical limitations of our horses, rider’s weight should not exceed 225 pounds. Download the liability forms/application at www.springdown.com before the first session.

Camp Cooking Around the World- register

Think you’re a great cook...? Are you looking to learn a bit more than the rest of the ol’ camp crowd can handle? Come learn the culinary secrets taught to professional chefs. This is a week of intensive culinary review for experienced young chefs. Classic knife skills will be applied, with several cooking methods and sauce making activities. Students will take part in competition at week’s end for best dish, applications and executions. There are certainly High “Steaks” on the line in this class!
