Participants will develop a relationship with local Fire Employees while educating themselves about possible career paths in civil service jobs. Skills that will be taught include: First Aid/CPR, fire safety, EDITH (Exit Drills in the Home), use of fire extinguishers, disaster preparedness, cooking safety, obstacle course and many other fire department skills and activities. We will engage participants in interactive activities like extinguishing real fires, spraying a real fire hose, confidence challenges, and students will have an opportunity to climb the 100 ft. ladder on the fire truck. All activities will be totally optional to each student. This is a great opportunity to explore a day in the life of a Firefighter, an experience not to be missed! Bring a bag lunch Monday-Thursday, a BBQ lunch will be provided on Friday.
Location: Fire Station 9, 755 Marshall St., Redwood City |
