2580 El Camino Real Proposal
Proposed Property Development Project in Redwood City

Brief Description of Project:

The Urban Housing Group has applied with Redwood City for a Planned Development Permit, Vesting Tentative Map and Condominium Permit as applicable and proposes to demolish the site’s existing structures to build a 141-unit multi-family residential development with wrapped parking containing 232 parking stalls and storage for 47 bicycles.

The Project parcel is 2.51 acres and is generally rectangular in shape, containing an existing one-story bowling alley building (AMF Redwood Lanes, formerly Mel’s Bowl), pole sign, and a large surface parking lot. The project site is located on the west side of El Camino Real near Center Street and San Carlos Avenue and across the street from unincorporated San Mateo County and Northumberland Avenue.

Status:
The City Council will consider two appeals of the Planning Commission’s certification of the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and Planned Development and Vesting Tentative Map approvals for the 2580 El Camino Real Residential Project.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday, February 13, 2012.
