Planning Commission
The Planning Commission consists of seven members, appointed by the City Council for terms of three years each. Members serve without compensation and cannot hold any other public office or position in the City while serving as members of the Commission.

Architectural Advisory Committee
The Architectural Advisory Committee was established to provide enhancement of the natural beauty of the environment, and to provide for the orderly and harmonious appearance of structures and grounds in furtherance of the purpose of Article 45 of Ordinance No. 1130, as amended, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance. The terms of Committee members are to commence and expire May 31, of even numbered years. The Committee shall advise the City Council, Planning Commission, and Zoning Administrator on matters concerning building and landscape architecture, site design, and signs.

Historical Resources Advisory Committee
The Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) consists of five members who are appointed by the Planning Commission for terms of three years. The HRAC was established March 10, 1980. The key duty of the HRAC is to make recommendations to the Planning Commission which relate to the City's Historic Preservation Ordinance.
