  • Alternative 2: Residential Avenue with Walkable Neighborhood Centers

What We Heard: Participants at the September 27, 2008 Community Workshop favored Alternative 2 over the existing General Plan and Alternative1.

Supporters of Alternative 2 thought it would be more likely to create walkable areas with pedestrian destinations, and liked the location of housing along public transit corridors.

In general, participants expressed concerns about traffic, pedestrian and bicycle safety and access, parks/open space, public transportation, affordable housing, street character, and landscaping.  Also discussed was the need for more trees along Woodside Road and the creation of a transitional area between mixed-used or taller buildings and the surrounding single-family home neighborhoods.
