Why is Redwood City creating a new General Plan?

Redwood City’s existing General Plan was completed and adopted in 1991. As Redwood City moves forward in the 21st century, it faces new challenges, problems, and opportunities. By state law, the General Plan must be reviewed and revised periodically to reflect new information and the inevitable changes to the community’s needs, values, and vision of what the city should be. That's why it's so important that the people in our community are involved and engaged in this process.
