Formerly called Redwood Tower, this project is a new link between the Sequoia Station shopping center, the Caltrain station, Theatre Way and our Downtown - the most exciting development since the retail/cinema project.
Step One: relocation of underground storm culvert
Latest Update - 5/31/13:
- The first phase - City relocation of the underground culvert - is completed, and Middlfield/Winslow is now open to through traffic!
- Crossing/900 construction is expected to begin this fall.
The Downtown renaissance continues with the next milestone project - Crossing/900. This project consists of a mid-rise office building with some retail and parking, and will create a new, welcoming gateway to our Downtown.
The project will be built where the City parking lot on Middlefield Road is now, adjacent to the Redwood City Caltrain station, and opening up to Theatre Way and the On Broadway retail/cinema complex. You can see a location map here.
The relocation of a culvert underneath the parking lot to clear the way for the project to be built is now complete.
It's anticipated that the developer will begin work on the Crossing/900 project as early as September 2013, and it will take 24 - 30 months to complete.
