Wednesday: Discussion of Cargill project

by Sean Howell

The Almanac, 3/3/10

Representatives of both Save the Bay and agribusiness giant Cargill will be on hand to discuss Cargill's proposal to build a virtual city on 1,400 acres of salt ponds at a meeting in Foster City at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3.

Sponsored by the San Mateo County Democrats for America, the meeting will be held in the Carpenters' Hall at 1153 Chess Drive in Foster City.

Save the Bay Political Director Stephen Knight will speak, as will a representative for the developer, according to the San Mateo County Democrats.

Save the Bay recently held a press conference to announce that it had gathered signatures from 92 current and former Bay Area public officials who oppose the development proposal.
