Employee of the Month
February 2012
The Public Works division of the Community Development Department recently selected Josh Kahn, Public Works Maintenance Worker II for the Water Utility section, as the February 2012 Public Works Employee of the Month!
Josh has been with Public Works since March 2007 starting as a Public Works Maintenance Worker I. Since that time, Josh has been promoted to the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker II. Currently assigned to water hydrant maintenance and testing, Josh also serves as a backup Underground Service Alert (USA) Locator. As a USA Locator, Josh is responsible for locating and marking underground utilities before excavation work begins. To help locate underground utilities, Public Works implemented software called infraMap that integrates with the City’s Geographical Information System (GIS) to show where water and sewer lines are located beneath the street. Josh has embraced the infraMap software and played a key role in training and mentoring his fellow employees on using the software. Normally known for his technical expertise and consistent performance, Josh has demonstrated his leadership abilities by championing the software.
As you would expect from such a high caliber employee, Josh can be counted on to help out with any special projects that need his assistance.
Please join me in congratulating Josh as the February 2012 Public Works Employee of the Month! Keep up the good work Josh!
