Objectives
- Provide safe and efficient thoroughfares for Redwood City’s vehicles,
cyclists and pedestrians.
- Keep right-of-ways and parking facilities free of dirt, refuse and litter,
and prevent debris and contaminants from entering the storm drain system.
Overview
Redwood City has about 149 miles of improved streets, six miles of unimproved
roadways and 300 miles of sidewalks. In addition, there are 4,400 streetlights,
5,000 traffic control signs, 60 traffic signal intersections and 1,410 parking
meters.
To accommodate the high volume of street maintenance in Redwood City, assets are maintained on a scheduled basis. PW has developed a comprehensive
strategy that includes a variety of programs and procedures that strive to preserve a clean and safe
