Water Conservation Education for Schools
Today’s students are tomorrow’s homeowners, business owners,
and water customers so it's important that they understand the value of water.
To achieve that, we’ve developed a creative approach to water conservation
education. If you’re a parent or a teacher, principal, or other education
professional, take a look!
To get started, here's a fun, interactive program to help students learn "The
Story of Drinking Water" (provided by the American
Water Works Association).
Also, be sure to check out the United States Geological Survey's (USGS) "Water
Science for Schools" website for all kinds of educational information
for students on water basis, water use, the water cycle, and more!
Here is an listing of Redwood City's programs for helping students learn about
the value of water.
- Annual Poster Contest
What does water conservation mean to kids? Our Annual Poster Contest
is a fun and dynamic way for them, to express their understanding of that
concept. From flights of fancy, to dams and bridges, and flowers and faucets
to rivers and oceans, the kids’ perceptions of water are always interesting
and enlightening! Call our Water Conservation Hotline at 780-7436 for
information.
