Terms and Conditions for Toilet Rebate Program
The purpose of this program is to replace water wasting toilets (those that
flush more than 3.5 gallons per flush) or those manufactured prior to 1992.
Participation in this program is limited to three (3) toilets per dwelling
unit.
Rebate Eligibility Requirements:
- Toilet installation address must have an active Redwood
City water account in good standing.
- Only approved toilets listed in the City’s List
of Qualified Toilets are eligible for a rebate.
- The new toilet installation must replace an existing working toilet using
3.5 gallons per flush or more. New construction projects and remodeling projects
requiring a building permit do not qualify for rebates.
- Rebates are not available for the replacement of another ultra low-flow
toilet, designed to use 1.6 gallons per flush.
- Participant must agree to a Home Water Survey and inspection of old toilet
by a Water Conservation Technician as condition of approval of the rebate
application.
- Participant is solely responsible for the purchase of toilet, installation
arrangements and any related charges.
- Participant must make the old toilet available to City and contact the
Water Conservation office to schedule the free pick-up/recycling of the old
toilet.
- Participant agrees to allow City staff access to verify installation upon
request.
Program Administration:
- The Toilet Rebate Program is subject to available funds and the City of
Redwood City (the “City”) reserves the right to cancel this program
at anytime for whatever reason.
- The City reserves the right to deny any application that does not meet
all requirements outlined herein.
