Fall 2014 Landscape Education Program

Free ClassesSponsored by the City of Redwood City and the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA)

BAWSCA member agencies offer several classes throughout the Bay Area every Spring and Fall.

This FALL Redwood City is hosting three classes.  Learn how to irrigate with your laundry water, or in a two part series help us replace turf in one of Redwood City’s parks with a water efficient landscape.

Classes are designed to introduce homeowners, commercial property managers, landscape service providers, and others to the concepts of water-efficient and sustainable landscaping.

Laundry to Landscape Graywater Installation

Instructed By: Deva Luna
Reduce your water use while keeping your garden green! Learn how you can simply and safely reuse water from sinks, showers and washing machines to irrigate plants. The class will discuss residential graywater reuse–including codes and regulations, and what soaps and plants to use for graywater irrigation.

Part 1 of Series – Do-It-Yourself Lawn Be Gone Training – Drip Installation

Part 2 of Part Series – Do-It-Yourself Lawn Be Gone Training – Planting
Instructed By: Alane Weber
Participate in the water-efficient garden installation!  Learn the process and techniques of designing and installing an attractive garden using water-efficient CA native plants that you can apply to your own space!  Learn how to replace a lawn by sheet mulching. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, bring a hat and a pair of gardening gloves.
