Redwood City is well known for its events, but Friday night's Music on the Square is one of the most treasured nights of summer! Thanks to sponsorship and community support we are able to continue to bring you these high-energy shows that get everyone off their feet dancing and having a great time. San Francisco powerhouse, Native Elements has been keeping the energetic, feel-good reggae tradition alive in the Bay Area for over 18 years. Comprised of 10 seasoned musicians with decades of experience in rock, metal, blues, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, this eclectic and fearless crew meld their unique influences into a contemporary melodic horn-driven party. Fans are treated with improvisational peaks and valleys from blazing guitar to soulful saxophone solos. Having grown up together since elementary school (jamming in garage bands and skateboarding) in and around Daly City, South City and San Francisco the Native Elements bring a uniquely warm experience to the stage that is both entertaining and uplifting.

 

July 20 • Santana Tribute
Caravanserai

Now in its twenty-first phenomenal year, Caravanserai has established itself as the most widely known Santana Tribute band in the country. This is the group the San Jose Metro declared “The Top Santana Tribute” and the San Francisco Examiner called “The Country’s Pre-eminent Santana Tribute Band” and radio DJ Wayne Coy declared "The Greatest Santana Tribute in the World" on the air at KKIQ 101.7 in the Bay Area. Originally a replication of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Santana's legendary early days, Caravanserai has grown to include material from all eras of Santana's 47-year history. Painstaking care has been taken in the recreation of early and new music performed by this band of journeymen from the San Francisco Bay Area. The band now features Adrian Areas, son of original Santana percussionist Chepito Areas, on timbales & percussion, making Caravanserai the only Santana Tribute to have DNA from the original Santana. The Caravanserai show explosively recreates the rhythms, drive and the atmosphere of sounds that have made Santana a mainstay in the history Rock Music for the past five decades!

Journey Revisited is dedicated to bringing the studio recordings of Journey to life on stage. With 2 lead vocalists, Frank House and Kevin Jachetta bring the classic Steve Perry- Gregg Rolie sound with their authentic re-creation of Journey’s distinctive vocals. Journey Revisited is on point in recreating that classic Journey sound, you won’t find a tighter sounding band around. The band has toured throughout the west coast, playing fairs, casinos, festivals, corporate events, and private parties.

A different kind of tribute band, you won’t see any impersonations here. Instead, Foreverland simply aims to honor and do justice to the music and spirit of the King of Pop.
