Beyond Stress and Anxiety with Dr. Juarez-Reyes

We will discuss common stressors, how the body interprets stress, the impact of stress on the body, and how stress results in physical symptoms such as fatigue, headache, stomach pain, sleep and mood disturbance.  The benefit of lifestyle interventions such as exercise and mindfulness meditation will be reviewed.  Finally, simple mindfulness exercises will be presented.  

Speaker: Dr. Juarez-Reyes graduated from University of California, San Francisco with a doctorate in Health Psychology.  Her area of research was in stress and the immune system in medical and psychiatric populations.   She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dept of Medicine, Division of Primary Care and Population Health at Stanford University.  Her clinical interest is in providing medical group visits for patients experiencing stress and anxiety.
