Redwood Symphony plays Brahms, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Stravinsky

Redwood Symphony’s blockbuster Feb. 9 concert brings music titans and audience favorites Miranda Liu and Jonah Kim together in the Brahms Concerto for Violin and Cello at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Main Theater at Cañada College, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd., Redwood City. This first-ever teaming features violinist Liu, who recently performed the Britten and Bartok violin concertos with Redwood Symphony, and cellist Kim, who premiered Michael Daugherty’s Tales of Hemingway and melted hearts with Elgar’s Cello Concerto.
Also on the program: Rimsky-Korsakov and Stravinsky, with the former's The Tsar’s Departure and Farewell and the latter's (newly-discovered) Funeral Song and much more mature Symphony in Three Movements.
