Las Américas Unidas

Masterworks concludes our 55th season with music from throughout the Americas. A mass that will make you want to put on your dancing shoes? Come hear for yourself—the Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez is praised for its color and rhythmic energy, and its connection to the culture, language, and music of Argentina. We revisit our season's theme with three Nocturnes by Morten Lauridsen, set to poems by Rainer Maria Rilke, Pablo Neruda, and James Agee. We are delighted to present a premiere of La Llorona, a new commissioned work by local composer Héctor Armienta. Finally, Kirke Mechem's Las Américas Unidas contains both Spanish and English texts echoing each other, as a sweeping tribute to cross-cultural understanding and cooperation.

Tickets: Adults - $30/advance, $35/door, Children/Students - $10
