Care for the Creek

Care for the Redwood Creek

427 Main st. Redwood City, CA 94062

Join us for a beautiful morning of habitat restoration at Redwood Creek! We'll take care of our beloved creek by planting native plants, picking up trash, and taking out weeds. Volunteers should expect lots of sun, hands-on restoration, and good bird watching.

Waivers/Registration: All participants must register & approve the online waiver through this Eventbrite page. Youth under 18 must have their legal guardian approve the waiver on their behalf.

Parking: Street parking for cars is available on Main and Bradford. Do not park in the Kaiser Emergency Room parking lot.

Bikes can be locked up to the bike racks on the southwest corner of Kaiser Hospital. If you are looking at the Emergency Department lobby, the bike racks will be 150 ft to your right, on the outside wall of the building across from the yellow curb for passenger loading/unloading.

Meeting Space: We will meet at the southwest corner of Main and Veterans.

Prepare for Working Outdoors:

  • Water bottle

  • Long pants, long sleeves recommended

  • Sturdy close-toed shoes that can get dirty

  • Hat/sunscreen

  • Plan for exposure to sun

We will provide gloves, tools, and light snacks.

Grassroots Ecology encourages people from all identities and backgrounds to participate in our programs. Many of our programs are outdoors and involve moving and working in a variety of landscapes. If you have accessibility concerns (i.e., allergies, limited mobility, learning differences), our projects are flexible and we are happy to work with you. Please reach out to the workday facilitator so we can best prepare for your participation.
