Bethlehem A.D.

FREE to the public, Bethlehem A.D. is each year on December 21, 22, and 23 from 6-9:30pm. This event recreates the ancient village of Bethlehem on the night of the first Christmas. It’s an outdoor, interactive experience that’s fun for children and adults. In a 15 minute walk, visitors encounter Roman Centurions, Tax Collectors, a marketplace including potters and bakers, craftspeople, folk dancers, ‘Inn keepers’ and a menagerie of animals for petting! Local dignitaries (including the Redwood City Mayor and Chief of Police), play the part of the wisemen. Everything culminates at the manger, which is surrounded by angels and music. Bethlehem AD is a one-of-a-kind Holiday experience creating a deep sense of "community" that unites people of diverse cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds. Golf carts are available for the physically challenged and shuttles run from the Kaiser Hospital Parking garage.
