Online - Exploring Japanese American History

  • Date: 02/25/2021 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

This virtual visit will explore the Japanese American National Museum’s on-going core exhibition, Common Ground: The Heart of Community.  This collections-based guided visual presentation will chronologically explore the Japanese American experience from the 1860s through the post-war era.  This event includes the opportunity to speak to a survivor of America’s concentration camps and gain insight into the first-hand experience of living through history. Trained docents and facilitators who lived through WWII will provide the group a rare, first-person glimpse this critical era of American history.  Participants of all ages are encouraged to build personal and human connections, think critically, and engage in lifelong learning.
