The Redwood City Public Library Art Exhibit Jury Selection invites local artists to submit work to be considered for exhibit at the Downtown Library and Redwood Shores Branch. The jury will be choosing artwork and photography to be displayed from March 2023 through December 2024. This jury selection event will take place at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center.
ELIGIBILITY:
Artists must live within the boundaries of the Sequoia Union High School District, or be members of the Sequoia Art Group.
SELECTION PROCESS:
- Bring 2-5 samples of your work to the jury event between 7:00 and 7:30pm.
- Artwork should be easily wall-hung and include a tag with the artist’s name, address, email address, and telephone number.
- In case of rain, artists may bring in photographs approximately 4” x 6” or 5” x 7” of their works. These photographs must be clear and in hard copy.
- If an artist would like to be considered but is unable to attend the jury event, they may submit photographs in advance. The photographs must be clear and in hard copy. The deadline to submit photographs is Monday, January 23.
- Submissions will be judged by representatives from the Library Board of Trustees, the Sequoia Art Group, the Redwood City Arts Commission, and other local arts organizations.
- Artists will be notified of the jury results on the same evening, by 8:30pm. All artwork must be picked up by 9:00pm.
Each selected artist will be assigned a two-month exhibition period. Artists will receive a copy of the exhibition schedule by mail. Artworks in the exhibit must be at least 16” x 20” and must be framed, mounted, or otherwise ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers are allowed.
