As part of its celebration of local diversity, Redwood City recognizes a variety of cultural events and awareness days.

Crafty Wednesdays / Miércoles de Manualidades

In the Makerspace. For grade K-3rd. 

Join us for a festive Crafty Wednesday celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights! We'll be making two traditional Indian-inspired crafts:

  • Rangoli Wooden Lanterns: We will create beautiful wooden lanterns decorated with colorful rangoli patterns.
  • Ambari Elephant Cushions: Make a soft, decorative cushion in the shape of an elaborately adorned Ambari elephant.

This special craft day offers a fun way to explore Indian culture and the celebration of Diwali. All materials will be provided. Come learn, create, and celebrate with us!

¡Acompáñenos en un festivo Miércoles de Manualidades celebrando Diwali, el Festival de las Luces! Haremos dos manualidades tradicionales inspiradas en la India:

  • Linternas de Madera con Rangoli: Crearemos hermosas linternas de madera decoradas con coloridos patrones de rangoli.
  • Cojines de Elefantes Ambari: Haz un cojín suave y decorativo en forma de un elefante Ambari adornado elaboradamente.

Este día especial de manualidades ofrece una manera divertida de explorar la cultura india y la celebración de Diwali. Se proporcionarán todos los materiales. ¡Ven a aprender, crear y celebrar con nosotros!
