Colibrí Rojo @ Redwood Shores

From September 15-October 15, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the rich culture of Redwood City’s Latino communities.

Colibrí Rojo will perform at Redwood Shores Branch Library on Saturday, September 21 at 11am. Colibrí Rojo is a collective effort aimed at reinforcing the cultural identity of children, youth, and families within our community through the exploration of Mexican traditional music and dance. Originally founded by Martha Celis as Danza Colibrí in January 2016, the group initially specialized in Mexican folk dance. A year later, they introduced traditional Mexican music workshops, where people of all ages learn to play traditional Mexican instruments from the Sotavento, Huasteca, and Mariachi regions.
