Dia de los Muertos

With the support of different institutions, local businesses, and a large group of volunteers, Casa Círculo Cultural has held the Day of the Dead celebration in Redwood City annually since
2011. Every year, we meticulously choose a theme or a region of Mexico deeply rooted in the ancient tradition of the Day of the Dead. This year, we are delving into the captivating world of The Mayan Culture. The Mayans once thrived in the southern reaches of Mexico and Guatemala, in an area known as Quauhtlemallan, which translates to ‘place of many trees’ in the Nahuatl language of Mexico.

Casa Círculo Cultural will bring a Mayan-style Day of the Dead celebration to Redwood City; join us to be part of this magical and ancient tradition.

Welcome speech and procession begins at 6:00 pm with our guests of honor.

Attendees can enjoy the ceremonial altars created by the members of the community, a procession, catrinas, face painting, free children’s activities, food court, and live entertainment throughout the evening. There will be booth vendors offering traditional Dı́a De los Muertos food such as: hot chocolate, pan de muerto, tamales, and more!
