Learn about the artists Wendy Red Star and Kimowan Metchewais. Red Star focuses on self-portraiture and photography. Metchewais introduced an innovative way of understanding the world informed by his indigenous heritage. Participants will learn about the artists' unique approach to photography and create their own mixed-media paintings that incorporate photographs and personal storytelling. All materials provided. About the presenter
Marilyn Montúfar is a fine art photographer, educator, and activist with ten years of research, production, teaching, and exhibition experience locally, nationally, and internationally. Her work amplifies stories about underrepresented communities through the arts – youth, migrants, women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities.
