Teen Program: How to Create a College List

Join us in the Community Room, Alice Kleeman is offering a discussion for high school juniors about how to create a college list.

Alice says "If you’ve ever heard the words “safety, target, reach,” forget about them immediately! I have a completely different (and less stressful) way to think about creating that list! My emphasis is always on lowering students’ stress". The session is for high school juniors only, not students at other grade levels or parents. Students who plan to attend must register in advance. (RSVPs need to come from students, not parents.)

My credentials: I served as the College Advisor at Menlo-Atherton H.S. for 20 years. Since retiring, I have kept well informed so I can be useful to students who need extra help (without ever charging money for my help). I offer college-related help as a volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club and elsewhere. I particularly enjoy serving students whose parents did not go to college. All students (at the right grade level) are welcome to attend the free library events.

Students say: “Alice offers some of the most genuine and helpful college-admission advice, and her insight helped me immensely  …” “Alice’s help … was unmatched. Would 10/10 recommend for an easier college-app experience!" “Alice’s library sessions were incredibly helpful and insightful, offering valuable information about the college-application process many people don't typically get the chance to learn.”
