The Redwood City Public Library Art Exhibit Selection Jury invites local artists to submit work to be considered for exhibit at the Downtown Library and Redwood Shores Branch. The jury will be choosing artwork and photography to be displayed between March 2026 and February 2027. This jury selection event will take place at the Downtown Library Community Room.
ELIGIBILITY:
Artists must live, work, or volunteer with a community organization within the boundaries of the Sequoia Union High School District; or be members of the Sequoia Art Group. Artists must be at least 16 years old.
SELECTION PROCESS:
- Bring up to 3 samples of your work and a printed artist statement (max 150 words) to the Jury Event between 5:30 and 6:00pm. Late arrivals will not be considered.
- Artwork will need to be easily wall-hung and include a tag with the artist’s name, address, email address, and telephone number.
- Artworks in the exhibit must be between 16” x 20" and 28” x 34” and not exceed 20lbs
- If an artist would like to be considered but is unable to attend the jury event, they may submit digital copies of artwork and artist statement by email to fpotter@redwoodcity.org. Digital copies must be received by Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 5:00pm. Please contact fpotter@redwoodcity.org for more information.
- Submissions will be judged by representatives from the Library Board, the Sequoia Art Group, the Redwood City Arts Commission, and other local arts organizations.
- Artists will be notified of the jury results on the same evening, by 7:15pm. All artwork must be picked up by 7:30pm.
Each selected artist will be assigned a two-month exhibition period. Artists will receive a copy of the exhibition schedule by mail. Artworks in the exhibit must be between 16” x 20" and 28” x 34”; not exceed 20lbs; and must be framed, mounted, or otherwise ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers are allowed.
