Teen Program: Anime Your Way with Carlos Nieto III

Part of the 2026 Peninsula Libraries Comic Arts Fest.  For Grades 6 – 12.

Bring your anime characters to life in this dynamic, hands-on drawing workshop! Anime Your Way takes you step-by-step through designing and customizing your very own anime character from scratch. No drawing experience? No problem! Using simple shapes, clear demonstrations, and easy-to-follow techniques, you'll learn the fundamentals of anime-style character design. Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or you're an experienced artist looking to explore anime style, you'll gain new skills, creative confidence, and artwork you can be proud of. All materials provided by the library.

Two Sessions Available:
Session 1: Wednesday, April 8 @ 4pm
Location: Makerspace

Session 2: Monday, April 13 @ 5.m
Location: Teen Room

About the Instructor. Carlos Nieto III is an experienced animator, illustrator, and instructor who created Anime Your Way over more than 10 years of teaching and artistic practice. He brings professional industry experience as a former layout artist for popular animated TV shows, including The Simpsons and King of the Hill. Originally from Los Angeles with Colombian roots, Carlos blends cultural influences and professional insight into his teaching style, helping students of all ages gain confidence and creativity through hands-on workshops and community events.
