Redwood City community members are invited to join the City Council and City staff for a special Disability Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on Wednesday, July 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Courthouse Square.
The City will raise the Disability Pride Flag over Courthouse Square, where it will fly for the remainder of July in recognition of Disability Pride Month. During the ceremony, Mayor Elmer Martinez Saballos will present a proclamation declaring July as Disability Pride Month in Redwood City.
This year’s Disability Pride Month theme is “The World Works Better With Us,” a reminder that our communities are stronger when people of all abilities are included, valued and able to fully participate. Speakers will include Mayor Elmer Martinez Saballos, Redwood City resident and Ms. Wheelchair California 2019 Angela Piazza, and Olenka Villareal, founder and CEO of Magical Bridge Foundation.
Community members are encouraged to attend and help honor Redwood City’s disability community.
