Enforcement of Voluntary Expenditure Limits
Candidates who agree to limit campaign contributions and expenditures but subsequently violate the ordinance shall, within seventy-two (72) hours of the City’s knowledge of the violation:
- Have notice of the violation forwarded to a newspaper of general circulation for publication
- Have notice of the violation posted on the City’s website
- Have notice of the violation posted at a reasonably accessible location at City Hall
- Result in removal of the 400-word written statement by the candidate that committed the violation from the City’s website, unless a fee is paid and the statement relocated in accordance with Section 2.154(D).

Qualifications for Office
A person must be a resident and elector of the Redwood City City Council district in which they seek nomination for at least 30 days immediately preceding the appointment or final filing day for nomination in order to become a candidate for the office of City Council Member.
