Projects with Recycling Requirements
The City of Redwood City has recycling requirements for these project types:
- All new construction
- All demolition
- All roofing
- All other projects valued at $50,000 or more
- Salvageable materials for commercial only with
a. Additions ≥ 1,000 square feet building or structureb. Alterations ≥ $200,000 construction cost
Waste Management Plans
If your project falls under the requirements, you must submit a Waste Management Plan before the building permit is issued. Please use Redwood City Waste Tracking to create this Waste Management Plan. You will need to create an account if you have not yet done so.

Recycling Documentation & Recycling Receipts
At the end of the project, before you call in for a final building inspection, you need to provide the Debris Disposal & Diversion Report which is also done through Redwood City Waste Tracking. You will also need to submit recycling receipts for final approval.
