Engineering FAQs

Community Geographic Information System (GIS) contains general information indicating sizes and approximate locations of city-owned utilities. This information can be accessed online at https://webgis.redwoodcity.org/community/

Use the search bar at the top of the page or navigate manually to the property or area of interest.

To change the base map view, navigate to Switch Base Map (thumbnail with four squares in the top right corner of the screen) then use the Select Base Map pop-up to select the desired map.

To view the desired infrastructure, select Layers/Legend along the left side of the page, then expand the Utilities section and the type of infrastructure. If the desired item is greyed out, zoom in until it becomes accessible.

Engineers, designers, and contractors seeking block maps can email their request to encroachment@redwoodcity.org. Please specify the area needed and the purpose of the request.

Determining and marking property boundaries requires the services of a Licensed Land Surveyor.

Use the search bar at the top of the page or navigate manually to the property or area of interest.

Select Layers/Legend along the left side of the page, expand the Hazards section, then Natural Hazards, then check the box to turn on the desired Flood Zone layer.
