One of the City’s top priorities is transportation. The City's transportation priorities seek to develop and support transportation infrastructure, implementing systems and programs that enable safe and efficient travel to, from and within the community. The City works closely with nearby cities, counties, and regional and State agencies to explore solutions to the region’s transportation challenges. There are several regional projects and studies underway that the City is involved with. Examples include the Dumbarton Transportation Project, Caltrain Electrification and Modernization Program, the Redwood City Ferry feasibility study, California High Speed Rail Project and more. Partnerships with regional agencies is vital in maintaining and upgrading roads, highways, ferry systems and other transportation infrastructure. Redwood City is committed to advancing its transportation infrastructure through these regional partnerships with San Mateo County, Bay Area cities, public-private partnerships, and more. Many of these regional projects can be viewed from the links below.
