No, permits may be purchased on a month by month basis ONLY. Downtown is changing quickly and the permit program needs to remain flexible to respond to new travel and usage patterns. Although this is a little more work for permit holders and for the City staff who process them, the program will work better overall.
How early can monthly permits be purchased?
After the 25th of the month, you may purchase Main Street parking lot permits for the following month. Permits for the Marshall and Sequoia Garages may be purchased at any time. To purchase a permit please stop by the Revenue Services counter at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road.
I decided that I don't need a parking permit anymore; can I return it?
Permits that are issued monthly (Marshall Garage and Sequoia Station Garage) may be returned for a refund of their initial deposit. No refund will be issued for the monthly costs of a permit.
I have a parking permit for Marshall Garage, but often when I come back from lunch, I can't find a parking space.
The inability of permit holders to find a parking space is one reason why we monitor the total number of permits sold in the Marshall Garage. Unfortunately, possession of a permit is NOT a guarantee of a parking space in the Marshall Garage, as noted in the parking permit application. If you have a smartphone, consider using the ParkerTM app to check on parking availability before you return to Downtown.
I manage parking permits for my company, can I buy as many monthly permits as I want?
Right now there is a strong demand for parking permits and the City is trying to balance the needs of all businesses, both small and large. For that reason, in order to ensure fair access to permits, no more than 10 permits may be purchased by a single business for the Main Street Lot. Currently there are no limits on the amount of permits that may be purchased for the Marshall and Sequoia Garages.
