Objective Design Standards for Residential Mixed-Use Projects
Objective Design Standards for Residential Mixed-Use Projects
Consistent with the Housing Accountability Act (state law) and the City’s Housing Element, City staff and WRT Consultants have created a draft Objective Design Standards Ordinance for public comment and review. The purpose of this ordinance is to provide objective design standards that promote well-designed projects and facilitate streamlined review of residential and mixed-use projects.
The draft ordinance incorporates:
- Quantifiable metrics to evaluate compliance with standards.
- A menu of options or alternatives to achieve the desired architectural design outcomes.
- Illustrations that aid in providing clarity.
- An optional discretionary architectural review process for applicants who desire additional flexibility in meeting Design Standards.
