Library of Things

This pass provides free vehicle day-use entry into a participating state park unit, and you can visit more than one state park unit while you have the pass checked out.

State Parks Passes are made possible thanks to a collaboration between the California State Library and California State Parks.

Available at all Redwood City Public Library Locations.

This is a vehicle day use pass valid at 22 San Mateo County park locations.  The pass holder may enter San Mateo County Parks without paying a vehicle entrance fee when parking is available. Other park fees, including reservation fees, are not covered by this pass.

These colorful backpacks include everything kids need to get started on an outdoor family adventure, including: wildlife guides, binoculars, bug magnifiers, flashlight, and first aide kit.  Don’t forget to add your own water bottle, snacks, and hat!

These toolkits provide tools, tips, and supplies to help you save energy and water at home. Tools can be used in any type of residence including RV, Apartment, and Single Family Home (rental or own). Learn more here.

WiFi Hotspots are available at the Downtown Library on a first come, first serve basis. Devices check out for 3 weeks. Once the 3 weeks has passed, if the device has not been returned, the data will be turned off. Devices must be returned to Downtown Library front desk staff during open hours and not the book-drop so that customers are not charged for damages that may occur.

Video Games are available at the Downtown Library. The collection boasts PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox games. Three video games may be checked out at any given time across all PLS Libraries. (i.e. If you have two video games checked out from other PLS Libraries, you will only be able to checkout one video game from our collection). Video Games must be checked out and returned at the front desk during open hours and not returned in the book-drop so that customers are not charged for damages that may occur.
