Take the 2020 VIRTUAL Summer Learning Challenge
Kids! Teens! Adults! Get Set to Take the Challenge June 1-August 31. Everyone can take the challenge. Read, listen and learn all summer long.
Click on Sign Up to enroll in the Summer Learning Challenge and to print your reading log (under 5 and school-age children) or bookmark (teens and adults). After you have printed your reading log or bookmark, return here to the Redwood City Summer Learning webpage and follow steps two through five to be a summer learning challenge champion! If you lose your reading log or bookmark, click on Sign Up and print a new one. No problem!
Just for registering, all participants 18 years and under get a free book to keep. Newly registered teens and adults will be entered into a raffle to win gift cards to local businesses and streaming entertainment services.
The free book can be picked up at the Downtown Library, 1044 Middlefield Road, starting the week of June 15 during curbside pickup service hours.
Track your reading, listening and learning activities!
Under 5 and School-Age Children: Color in a block for every 20 minutes of reading or listening each day, and each time you try a new activity this summer. You can read books, magazines, newspapers, road signs, take-out menus, etc. All reading counts!
Teens and Adults: Read or listen to five books, write a short review and list six new activities you did this summer.
When you have completed your reading log or bookmark, click on I’m Done to complete the finisher form. Then take a picture of your completed reading log or bookmark for step five. By completing the finisher form children ages 18 and under are entered into a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship. The child must be a resident of Redwood City or North Fair Oaks to be eligible to win.
Children 12 and under visit the Redwood City Downtown Library, 1044 Middlefield Road after July 7 to show us the picture of your completed log and collect your prize. Teens and adults will be automatically entered into a raffle to win amazing prizes.
