New 15 MPH School Zones: Enhancing Safety for Kids

Starting mid-August 2024, Redwood City is rolling out a pilot program to improve safety around schools. By reducing speed limits to 15 MPH, we're encouraging careful driving and creating safer walking and biking routes for students. This initiative supports both safety and a healthier lifestyle for our community.

Lowering Speed Limits Near Schools

Please refer to the map to see what streets the new speed limit zones will be located. The speed limits near school zones shall be in effect while children are going to or leaving school, either during school hours or during the noon recess period.

Hoover

Kennedy and Henry Ford Elementary School

Roosevelt Elementary School

Roy Cloud Elementary School
