The Redwood City Special Needs Program, located at the Veteran's Memorial Senior Center, offers a variety of recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities ages 14 and older. Programs and activities focus on positive experiences, learning opportunities, and life skill development in a fun, safe and caring environment.

The Special Needs Program focuses on:

  • Positive play and peer interaction
  • Building positive self-image and enhancing self-esteem
  • Age and ability appropriate activities
  • Activities and recreation opportunities in the community
  • Appropriate social interactions and behavior
  • Gross and fine motor skill development
  • Teamwork and cooperation
  • Activities of daily living  
  • Health and Wellness

CHEF’S CLUB

Resuming September 19, 2024 

Thursdays 5:30-8:30pm
$135 per 4 week session

The Thursday evening Chef Club is perfect for anyone who has an interest in planning and cooking healthy meals. Participants will choose their menus each week!

 

On-Going, starting again in the fall. Designed for teens and adults ages 14+ with differing abilities, this club is perfect for anyone who has an interest in planning and cooking healthy meals. Each week participants will plan a meal from start to finish and enjoy the fruits of their labor! After dinner, participants will engage in social activities.


Quarterly Dances

The dances are so much fun! Participants aged 14+ will have snacks, dance, and even have a raffle! All dances are just $5 per person, but pre-registration is required. Our next dance is Friday, August 2, 2024. More to be announced.
