The Redwood City Special Needs Program, located at Red Morton Park, offers a variety of recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities ages 8 and older. Programs and activities focus on positive experiences, learning opportunities, and life skill development in a fun, safe and caring environment. The Special Needs Program focuses on:

Redwood City Accessible Recreation Program will be offering a Monday-Friday Afternoon Program for individuals with differing abilities ages 8 and up. The program will be divided into age appropriate sub-groups. The program opens at 2PM and pick-up time is 6PM in the Sequoia Room of the Veterans Building in Red Morton Park. Early Drop Off programming is also available when 2 weeks advance notice is provided.
Mondays: Get Moving
Activities for this day are focused on adaptive fitness and healthy life styles. Activities include various exercises like Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, light weights, hiking as well as outside sports. Learn about the nutrients found in many different foods that will help your body grow and get stronger and healthy.
Tuesdays: At the Movies / Music & Technology
Enjoy a mid-week film in the VMSC state of the art theatre as well as explore the fun of today’s technology alternating with music.
Wednesdays: Local Adventures/Therapeutic Horseback Riding
Enjoy a trip to local destinations. This may include parks, fire stations, museums, and more and once a month trip to B.O.K. Ranch for therapeutic horseback riding.
Thursdays: Mix It Up
Tap into your creative side with an arts & crafts activity.

The Thursday evening Chef Club is perfect for anyone who has an interest in planning and cooking healthy meals. Each week participants will plan a meal from start to finish and enjoy the fruits of their labor! After dinner, participants will engage in social activities.
