About REACH

Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services (PRCS), in partnership with the Redwood City School District, delivers the REACH program on school campuses in Redwood City on a daily basis. Over the past 20 plus years, the City has partnered with the District to serve children after school.

Our programs include: Recreation, Enrichment, Academic intervention and enrichment, homework support, Community service and Health and wellness programming.

Hours of Operation

The REACH program runs Monday through Friday, from the end of the school day, until 6:00pm.

Community Partners

The REACH program works with a variety of community partners to provide quality activities and educational experiences.

Program Evaluation

Due to the impact of COVID-19, schools in distance learning and transitioning into a hybrid program, we were unable to complete a program evaluation for school year 2020-2021. We are currently surveying our community for the 2021-2022 school year.

We look forward to gaining valuable insight and learning from our evaluation and program review to help us better prepare our students for now and in the future.

Flexible Tuition Program

Our Flexible Tuition Program helps to ensure access to our After School Program for all, as well as helps to provide continued socio-economic diversity of the program’s student body.

The Flexible Tuition Program allows families to apply for reduced tuition based on varying income levels and current economic or family hardships. If you are interested in applying for the Flexible Tuition Program, please contact the program coordinator for your school.

The REACH program is currently on four Redwood City School District Sites: Orion Alternative, Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion, Roosevelt, and Henry Ford.

Waitlists do not carry over to the next school year — a new sign-up is required each year.

Attendance Policy

We are committed to serving your student to the best of our abilities and providing a well-rounded program. Please read the below information in regards to our attendance policy that will be effective January 4, 2022 at Adelante Selby, Roosevelt, and Henry Ford REACH after school programs.

In order for students to achieve maximum success an attendance commitment for the full length of program each day is required. Students must attend the program until 5:45pm Monday- Friday. If your child has a doctor’s appointment or is attending a parallel program (swimming, karate, art class, soccer, etc.) that requires them to miss or leave program early, please inform your site coordinator of their schedule.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in meeting our attendance requirement. We look forward to continue serving your students and providing a quality after school program
