Two Major Field Replacement Projects - Summer 2025

Two Field Synthetic Turf Replacement Projects

The City will be replacing aging synthetic turf at Mitchell Field in Red Morton Park and Fair Oaks Field. Both fields currently have synthetic turf that are now due for replacement. We're taking this opportunity to make some exciting improvements too!

MITCHELL FIELD (Red Morton Park)

CLOSED: June 16 - November 4 (subject to change)

Mitchell Field will receive complete turf replacement of both the outfield synthetic turf and clay infield areas. The project will convert the clay infield to synthetic turf to increase accessibility and accommodate Miracle League baseball players who have intellectual, physical, or developmental disabilities, providing a more even surface and safer playing environment. Additional improvements include installation of the new City approved drainage system and connection to the existing City drainage system over Myrtle Street.

The parking lot at Myrtle Street will be completely closed to the public during the construction period, and with access allowed only by the contractor.

We know these closures are inconvenient, but these improvements will serve our community for years to come! Thanks for your patience as we maintain accessible fields for everyone.
