Go Card Transportation Program

Fair Oaks Community Center is now offering the Go Card Program, a transportation benefit for qualifying residents and shelter clients in:
- Redwood City
- North Fair Oaks
- Woodside
- Portola Valley
- Atherton
What is the San Mateo 101 Express Lanes Go Card Program? 🎟
The Go Card Program Helps Cover transportation cost for qualifying San Mateo County residents and is sponsored and funded by San Mateo US 101 Express Lanes.
Eligible participants receive a $200 prepaid card that can be used for public transit, express lanes, toll bridges, paratransit, and bike or scooter rentals. The card can be used as a payment method with participating Bay Area transportation providers, including those listed below.

Am I Eligible?
You must meet the following three qualifications:
- Resident of San Mateo County
- Age 18 or older
- Earn an individual annual income at or below 60% of San Mateo County Area Median Income (AMI).
Please review the table below to see which income limit applies to you for 2025, based on your household size. Income limits are subject to change annually.

Your household includes yourself, your spouse, and any dependents. Multiple people who live within one household may receive a prepaid card through the Go Card Program if they each meet the program’s eligibility requirements. Please be sure to apply separately.
What do I need to apply?
👉 All documents are required to complete the application.
📷 Photo ID
Accepted forms of identification include driver’s licenses, passports, green cards, military IDs, foreign IDs, and other any other government-issued IDs that include your date of birth.
🏠 Proof of residency
- If living in our service area: acceptable documents include utility bills, bank or credit card statements, leases, employment letters, USPS documentation, and insurance or tax documents with a recent date.
- If staying in a shelter: Letter from the shelter confirming you live there.
💸 Proof of income from the last 30 days, such as:
- General Assistance
- CalWORKs
- CalFresh
- SSI / SSDI
- Pay stubs
- Tax Forms
- Bank statement (if paid by direct deposit)
- letter from your employer, or a benefits letter.
If none of the income verification document options are available to you, you may sign a self-declaration statement confirming your income directly on the application.
📧 Email Address
The program requires an email address for eligibility verification, account management, and program notifications.
Get Your Pass Faster ⚡
- 📧 By Email (best option): Once you are approved for the Go Card Program, you will receive a notification email with a link to access your prepaid card account. Upon logging in, you may choose either a virtual or physical prepaid card. We recommend a virtual prepaid card, because you can activate it and use it on the same day. The physical prepaid card may take a few weeks to arrive in the mail.
- 📫 By Mail: A physical card can be mailed, but it may take up to 2 weeks.
💡 Creating an email address before your visit can help avoid delays.
