Parks
Redwood City boasts over 30 unique parks from small neighborhood parks that are only a quarter of an acre, to larger multi-use parks that are 40 acres, to Off-leash Dog Parks and a Skate Park.
The City of Redwood City recently launched a City Satisfaction Survey to rate City services, quality of life, etc. Our parks and programs were praised by the community in the survey results, which included the following data:
- Redwood City’s parks, recreation facilities, and programs continue to enjoy high scores, with more than 80% of respondents rating them as “excellent” or “good."
- The current survey results reveal a significant increase in those residents who said that their household had used a City park, recreation facility, or recreation program within the past 12 months (87.8% in 2015 vs. just 58% in 2010).
- Residents reported high marks for “Sense of Safety in parks”; “Downtown Events”; and “Attractiveness/cleanliness of parks/facilities.”
- Top 5 specific program rankings for what PRCS provides: Downtown Events; Sports for Youth/Teens; Condition of fields/courts; Summer Youth Camp/Programs; and Attractiveness/Cleanliness of parks and facilities
