 Utility Box Murals
In 2014 the Civic Cultural Commission now renamed the Redwood City Arts Commission launched a new project to help both enhance the beauty and vibrancy of Redwood City AND deter unsightly graffiti on utility boxes. The Utility Box Mural Pilot Program was launched by choosing the top 10 most graffiti boxes in Redwood City and we now have over 60 Utility box Murals for all to enjoy. These murals are showcased on our Explore Redwood City app which can be downloaded onto smartphones and computers via the links below. Once utility box murals are completed, special, anti-graffiti coating is applied to the box which extends the longevity of the art and deters graffiti.
We continue to expand this program and always welcome sponsorships as well as referrals of artists.
