The Youth Academy

The Youth Academy is designed to provide youth with an idea of what police work is all about. The course includes information on police training and operations, de-escalation, and crisis intervention, as well as support services inside the Police Department. Overall, the Youth Academy helps students understand how a police department operates and gives them a glimpse inside.

The Youth Academy is an outreach program created by the Police Department to improve understanding and interaction with the youth in our community.

Benefits

Participants will have a clearer understanding of what the community can expect from their police and share that knowledge with others.

Requirements

Applicants must be between the ages of 13-16

Applicants must be available for all sessions

Applications must be submitted to the Redwood City Police Department

Participants will be selected from submitted applications
